The Story Behind Jillywear Designs.
I was never a great student but I was a great doodler!!! I doodled on everything. When I doodled I daydreamed. I daydreamed about pictures, color and designs! The only classes that gave me pleasure were art classes. When I wasn’t in school, I was taking art classes. I loved the feel of different mediums on my hands. I loved clay and dyes and paint. I loved mixing media. When it came time to go to college my parents would not support my art. They wanted me to be a teacher so that is close to what I did. I became a speech therapist and I taught my students through a multi-sensory model. We did tons of art! But there was a part of me that was always lost. I did my crochet and knitting and sewing and basketry, then one day, I started to use resin. I found that resin was a wonderful medium where the sky was the limit. I finally decided after raising 4 kids it was time for me. As I am writing this, after over thirty-five years as a speech therapist I am hanging up my office key to venture into my next life. A life of further creativity, nurturing my inner self and total peace of mind and body. I look forward to taking you along for the ride.
